Pokkiri Audio - Fan's Reviews |
The whole of Tamil Nadu is aware that this movie is a remake of Mahesh Babu's Blockbuster Pokiri directed by Puri Jaganadh and music by Mani Sharma. Mahesh Babu is one of the developing heroes in Telugu Industry, so the songs have been wielded in a better way to suit the movie than the hero. And the songs came out very good. Now its the turn of Vijay who has been almost declared as the next SUPERSTAR. And it was the turn of dance master cum director Prabhu Deva's chance to wield the megaphone. And the pressure is again on Mani Sharma who have already scored two musical blockbusters for Vijay (Shahjahan, Youth). And now the audio has three important responsibilities -
And now let us clarify that to which extent it can fill the criteria of an ideal Audio album
The present trend trend is to have very heavy beats for the intro song. But this song is exceptionally an exception. Only a future intro song of Vijay can match 'Aadungda ennai suthi' song. The lyrics of Kabilan is of very high class and meaningful. In the Telugu version 'Jagadame', it specifies hero only of negative shades. But here it is best suited to the mass image of Vijay with completely positive shades with some minor negative shades.
The singer Naveen has a great future for the way he sung the song; superb indeed! And the main man behind it is the unbeaten Mani Sharma. Though he has started with heavy beats as usual, the folk type and melody starts to rock the song. And the insertion of title 'POKKIRI' in the middle of song has been done in an ultimate rhythemic manner. A perfect intro song. Hence a new trend for intro songs will be started.

This song has been one of the most reputed songs in Telugu. And it has been shifted as it is to Tamil. Still it lags a bit from the original version due to comparitively less use of remix slants. But still this song is very new to Tamil. So it has a good potential to be a big hit song.
And though small part is done by Ranjith, but well done. And the voice of Suchitra is the highlight of the song. Pa.Vijay has well handled the difficulty of providing lyrics to music of other regional song. And Mani Sharma has shown his potential of composing a well defined variety song.

This song is the best pick of the album. The lyrics by Muthukumar sound really excellent. Both singers have sung the song very well. And again the person who deserves accolades for it is Mani Sharma. This song starts with a very old movie music but soon Mani Sharma starts rocking the drums with a new and lively music.
Really exceptionally carved song. And the picturisation will be interesting. This is analogous to 'Gala Gala' of Telugu version. It is a good and routine melody. But ours is something new.

This song is a master piece of melody. It is analogous to 'Devu Devuda' and definitely better than it. Usually remix seems to be better but it is exceptional as it is better than remix version. The voice of Ranjith is electrifying and Swetha has done good enough to earn reputation.
This lyrics by Pa.Vijay has the classy touch of Vairamuthu type. And Mani Sharma has brought as usual a melody number for 'A' class fans. And this song is of quite a rare type for Vijay and his fans.

This song is also tuned as it is in telugu version as it has more and better remix than that of telugu version .To be honest our version is better. For sure this song is a treat for mass on screen. Pa.Vijay as usual has penned lyrics well suited to the music. Suchitra has again lended her husky voice to make the song lively. And though for short time, Ramanan has done a dazzling job. The music by Mani Sharma is of complete mass type. But still this song may be avoided by ladies and children if it is as same as in Telugu version on screen.

This song in telugu version (Choddu odhu...) is really good. But in Tami,l it is well etched to challenge the dancing skills of Vijay. I saw many people rating this song least. But as everyone knows, it is Vijay's usual trend of mass song which is always the biggest hit after movie's release like 'Appadi Podu','Kumbida Ponna','Ada enatha solvengo'. The lyrics of Sneghan and music of Mani Sharma is sure to attract children and his die hard fans. An energetic, vibrant and peppy tune. The voice of Ganga is energetic enough. A name still not mentioned is none other than Ultimate 'Shankar Mahadevan'. His voice is completely modified as if Vijay had song. A legend in singing fast and peppy tunes. Overall this song is typical of Vijay and sure to attract crowd after movie release

This remix is also something new to Tamil. As we have already discussed about the singer and lyrics above, here the result is well done. The remix is well edited and done upto the mark but could be done in a better manner. Still the original is better than this remix version.

The theme music of telugu version with better and heavy beats has descended into tamil. This tune shoots up the adranline . The first half of the theme music comes throughout the movie and the second half starts while nearing the climax. This Background Music would be definitely the most liked by Vijay fans and win the hearts of all the people of Tamil Nadu.

Overall Review-
The Audio is worth not only for songs but also for the travel expenses and ather accessories. At first hearing, one gets satisfied; at second hearing, the songs are very good; at third hearing you can put it in one of the all time best albums of Vijay. Already 'Vasantha Mullai,''Tamil Tamil' and 'Aadungada' has turned out to be big hits. The final conclusion is the audio is right mix of western, melody, peppy and desi tunes. It is well suited to all class of people. The audio is par excellence.

Single Punchline - The telugu version songs boast itself of excellence, but in the tamil version, songs are still better than it.Then just imagine how good is this Audio!
