Movie Reviews |
It has been 2 hrs after the movie but still everything looks blur, where ever I turn I can only see the cute Vijay and gorgeous Asin wrapped with a wonderful BGM..I know this is the perfect time to write a short review for the Class Movie ‘Kavalan’.
How do you expect a MASS Hero's Golden Jubilee movie be? If you want an answer you will find it at theatres screening SURA.
MASS!!! MASS!!! MASS!!! This is something that all Vijay fans expect from every movie and Vijay has indeed satisfied all the fans with his latest release Vettaikaaran. Vijay's 49th is sure to reach places and set the bells ringing at the box office. A good family entertainer that could have been much better had they chosen a different climax. Definitely a film worth the Pongal festival and one that has high chances of becoming a superhit An entertainer with a perfect blending of action, humor, style, mass and class. Villu serves as a sweet pongal gift for all classes of audience. The team of ‘Villu’ has succeeded in meeting the expectations Vijay delivers a handsome treat to his fans and the audience with his stylish portrayal in 'Kuruvi' but director Dharani seems to have slipped up a bit With a performance like never before, he takes up the burden of the entire film on his shoulders and delivers it impressively Prabhu Deva and Vijay have created magic among their fans with their positive approach and belief to succeed. Vijay clearly took Pokkiri as a challenge and have accomplished it with loyalty to his fans. Vijay has done a splendid role as usual. Director Ramana has used Vijay’s talents, handled them carefully and directed it towards success.Vijay has worn the same garment of fight, dance and comedy as usual. Vijay’s comedy makes bellies roll. Vijay and Prakash Raj have possibly given their best performances till date in Sivakaasi. Vijay’s performance as usual is really good. His abilities to dance well, crack jokes, expressive eyes, area all his talents put to fullest use Hugely successful action films like Gilli, Thirupatchi and Madurai have given Vijay numerous young male fans but with this film, he is all set become the darling of the teenagers. He oozes style and innocence Vijay, who plays a criminal lawyer to bail out Ravi, is the welcome relief in this movie. Vijay speaking lengthy and punchline dialogues and his acrobatic stunt sequences are aimed at his fans. Vijay portrays emotion and action with élan and if the hero begins to choose scripts that are more challenging and different, it would be a field day for viewers. Sibling affection, comedy and serious expression come easily to Vijay The saving grace of the film is hero Vijay. He goes through his role with perfect composure and confidence, the loose script not much bothering him. In fact, Vijay here is more outgoing and expressive, infusing his performance with subtle nuances But in this Sri Surya Movies' production, the portrayal as a whole is on a different plane. Righteous anger, affection for the family, soft romance and agility on the playground, show us a different Vijay. The hero has portrayed the part with finesse and feeling. Vijay appears rather uninterested most of the time and looks like he himself doesn't believe that he is a scientist. He must be really glad Gilli came along soon after to erase this movie from people's minds. Vijay presents the character that has a quite a few fine distinctions, creditably. Vijay, who generally does not believe in exerting himself too much in the emotions department, Jothika is as fresh as she was in Kushi and delights the audience with her dances especially Dhimusu Kattai number Vijay presents the character that has a quite a few nuances, creditably. Mention must be made of the scene in which he desperately reels out details about himself, to the doctor, even as he is losing consciousness. Vijay has rarely been natural in romantic expressions. Most of the time he would seem to be conscious of his steps in the song sequences and of the dialogue in the love scenes. But "Vaseegara" is different - you actually see him emoting quite well as the forlorn, love-struck young man. Sneha is absolutely comfortable in her role of the woman who is unrelenting in her love for Bhupathi. Vijay, who generally does not believe in exerting himself too much in the emotions department, (there are a couple of exceptions though), has made a laudable effort in "Bhagavathy". Vijay has nothing much to be well-spoken in this film. The much said dialogues of Vijay with similes, Clichés, outpouring messages, and repetitive dialogues like Rajinikanth is the backdrop of the film. Most films starring Vijay are marked by good music and dance sequences. Both --- good music and dance sequences --- are missing here. Debutant music director D Imaan still has a long way to go to make a mark New face Richa has little to do but look good. Vijay sparkles in the role of Ashok and Krishna fills the bill of a perfect non-action hero Vijay is one actor who does not rest on his laurels. He has taken risks in the action scenes where cars are run over his fingers, as he lies flat on the road Vijay surprisingly plays a subdued role that can almost be termed a supporting role to Surya. But he is cute initially and displays maturity in the emotional scenes in the second half. As expected, he has a few occasions to showcase his dancing and stunt talents and makes good use of them Vijay became too happy and he acted very naturally in the scene concerned. In the event of the success of this film, Vijay may once again capture the top spot among the Tamil heroes. Vijay also comes across as one of the few top heroes to avoid the trap of narcissism -- he is equally casual, thus, about his clothes and makeup, both of which are noticeably understated Vijay as the hero is just brilliant! The actor has shown laudable skill both in the way he has handled this complicated role and in expressing various shades of Gautham's tormented mind. Especially from the moment he becomes aggressive, with the violent streak predominating and eyes blazing with manic fury. After Vijay's success draught of 1999, Kannukkul Nilavu should definitely bring him a much-needed hit and become landmark in his career. And now comes Minsaara Kannaa, which jogs along easily before becoming enmeshed in sentiments and cinematic cliches which make the last part of the movie all but unwatchable. Vijay leaves a lot be desired in the emoting department and and one of his songs(with lines about fans and philosophies) sounds suspiciously like a song in a Rajnikanth movie making us wonder if he has already let success go to his head Vijay dances, romances and fights enthusiastically but has a lot of work to do with his facial expressions. Banupriya and Raghuvaran are casual and good while the rest are adequate. The comedy, while not very funny, moves along with the movie. Vijay, who seems to be improving with every movie, really props up the movie. Apart from romancing Simran, he also takes part in two dances and a robust fight sequence. His acting is upto the mark too. Seluvar (Vijay) is the son of Vinu Chakravarthy . They are Christians living in a fishing village. Vijay's friends are Charlie, Balaji and Sujit Sagar; and together with Vijay Vijay performs some lively dance numbers, including a solo one, and indulges in vigorous fight (a minor back injury flared up during this shooting, forcing him to take rest for a couple of weeks), all in his usual style. He has madesincere efforts to give shape to the negative character and asserts himselfin the climax. He is at his best in the scene where he pleads his case withJai Ganesh, forcing him to a rash a Ninaithen Vandhai is a must-see Vijay`s movie. It is an entertaining movie. Everyone has lived up to their role. Vijay, Rambha and Devayani are the heart of the movie. They both looked good and have acted very well. Vijay has come out very adorable. Vijay shows controlled aggression in his fights as the rivals happen to be the brothers of his sweetheart and dances with relish. His voice modulations heightens his portrayal. They keep on fighting like this throughout the movie. Meanwhile both the heroes Vijay and Surya find their own girlfriends and fall in love. Vijay is paired with Kausalya while Surya is paired with Simran Vijay (Vijay) is a rich kid whose only one aim in life is to have fun. Manivannan is his Uncle. Vijay is the Managing Director of a big tea estate in Ooty and his company goes on a big loss because of his mismanagement. Vijay spends most of his time in partying and talking to girls whatever he feels like. Vijay, Karan, Jaisankar and Sri Vidya provide the required acting. Dimple's (debut) acting is OK, but, she can improve more in her acting skills. Delhi Ganesh has acted as Dimple's father and he has been wasted However, this film was his first mega-hit which gave way to other mega-hit films like Once More, Kadhalukku Mariadhai, Love Today, Naerukku Naer, Ninaithen Vandhai, Nilaave Vaa etc which were all mega-hits in their own right Will they ever quit ? Shobha and S.A. Chadrashekar cannot be called the Ed Woods of Tamil cinema as that might be an insult to Ed Wood Jr., considered by many as the worst film maker of all time. This is another vehicle to launch Vijay their son to superstardom and it fails miserably
