How times fly faster than the wind? For the fans, the release of Pokkiri just seemed like a few days ago, but now we are here to celebrate the silver jubilee function of the film which has been declared a mega-hit by the trade and has created huge profits for the producer and the distributors.

The film has brought our 'Next Superstar' Vijay back to where he belongs - among the top. Pokkiri remains to be one of the biggest hits among the movies that Vijay has done so far. The movie was directed by ace choreographer Prabudeva, who also choreographed the much hyped superhit song "Dole Dole" which showcased the extremely fantastic dancing skills of Vijay. Music for the movie was composed by Manisharma, whose songs are permanently etched in the in the minds of the movie going audience

The silver jubilee function will be held on July 8th at Nehru Stadium, Walltax Road, Chennai. The chief guest of the function is going to be none other than 'Ulayanayagan' Dr Kamalhaasan who will be presenting mementos and shields to the whole team of Pokkiri. It is a matter of great pride that we will have Kamal Sir who will be presenting the shield to Ilayathalapathy Vijay. The last time Vijay received an award from Kamal Sir's hands was at the Vijay TV awards for "Next Super Star" selected by Public.

The function is being organised on a very grand scale and the organizers vouch that it will be a night to be remembered. Music director Srikanth Deva will be composing the music for the mega event. Actresses like Namitha, Tejashree, Chaya Singh and Malavika will be performing at the event.
