Everyone is still very much into the 'Pokkiri' mania which has not only been gripping Chennai, but also many other parts in the world. The movie is doing spectacular business in places like Kerala, United Kingdom, United States of America, etc. The movie has also taken a 100 percent opening in Tamil Nadu and is holding super strong due to the excellent 'word of mouth' that everyone has been spreading about the movie.

In the midst of all this, Vijay is quietly moving onto his next venture 'Azhagiya Tamizh Magan'. Pokkiri's success has highly rejuvenated Vijay and the signs are there for everyone to see. His face is much more glowing than ever before and he is very happy that his hard work has paid off.

Azhagiya Tamizh Magan's pooja has been confirmed to be held on January 24th at AVM studios. Azhagiya Tamil Magan will be directed by Bharathan (Dharani's assistant in Ghilli cum dialogue writer). Shreya will be playing the lead role opposite Vijay in Azhagiya Tamil Magan. Namitha has also been slotted to play an important role in the movie. Santhanam will be taking care of the comedy department.

The movie's music will be taken care of our Musical genuis 'Isai Puyal' AR Rahman. To be noted that this is AR Rahman's second movie with Ilayathalapathy Vijay with the first one being the forgettable 'Udhaya'. Due to the delays, Udhaya did not take off well and by the time it arrived, fans has already lost hope on the project. AR Rahman himself is hoping that he proves second time lucky with Vijay. And why not, Vijay is the only actor with whom Rahman has not tasted success so far.

The movie's shooting is expected to commence in the first week of February, and is slated for an August release.
